Peer Support

Peer support offers a level of acceptance, understanding, and validation not found in many other professional relationships (Mead & McNeil, 2006). By sharing their own lived experience and practical guidance, peer support workers help people to develop their own goals, create strategies for self-empowerment, and take concrete steps towards building fulfilling, self-determined lives for themselves.

Beat Addiction Recovery offers live peer support 24/7 via a HIPAA compliant smartphone app. Patients are paired with peers with similar profiles, e.g. gender, age, substance of abuse. Beat Addiction Recovery’s Peer Support app can be used by patients that are being treated with medications other than Naltrexone or those not participating in MAT at all. It also includes an option for remote DNA drug testing for over 100 different substances.
